The Legislative Subcommittee is responsible for bringing forth new legislation for consideration by Rotary International's Council on Legislation (COL).  In turn, the subcommittee is responsible to share new legislation with the clubs in District 7090.  

 

                                                             
LEGISLATIVE SUB-COMMITTEE:
This sub-committee reports to the Governance Committee and is comprised of two Past District Governors with a working knowledge of Rotary International's Constitution documents, the Governor, the Governor Nominee, the Immediate Past COL Delegate, the COL Delegate who is the chair, and the Alternate Delegate.  Per RI mandate the delegate must be a Past District Governor.

Responsibilities:
The Legislative Subcommittee is a resource for district-related legislation, presenting legislative proposals to the Governor, the District Council, and at the Conference as well as working with the Council on Legislation (COL) Representative for immediate past COL as to memorandum to be submitted to RI Board and any objections or matters pertaining to recently passed proposals; also, to work with the Council on Resolutions (COR) and the COL Representative as to new proposals to be submitted at upcoming Council on Resolutions and Council on Legislation.

Advise and assist the District Governor on nominations and elections and other matters involving RI’s constitutional documents, and serve as a resource to the District 7090 Manual of Policies and Procedures (MOPP), including leading the District in the triennial review of the MOPP.
