Embarking on a journey of hope, Chairman Najeeb Syed's visionary leadership within the International Service Committee of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South sparked the inception of 'The Trust for Malnutrition and Stunted Growth' (TMSG). This momentum reached unprecedented heights when the Rotary Club of Karachi, recognizing its profound significance, formalized a monumental Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to seamlessly integrate into this noble cause.Together, these clubs forged a not-for-profit trust dedicated to addressing malnutrition and stunted growth. A consortium of dedicated Rotarians, alongside a select group of independent individuals, assumed the role of trustees. Notably, Aziz Memon, a trustee of Rotary International and the Polio Plus Chair, provided invaluable expertise to bolster TMSG.

In 2020, the first child was screened, marking the initiation of a transformative journey. TMSG has since become a beacon of hope, revitalizing the health of 35,000 malnourished children and 7,000 pregnant and lactating mothers through the provision of free, ready-to-use therapeutic or supplementary food.Exceeding the million-dollar mark and still growing, the project has garnered support from additional Rotary districts and like-minded individuals committed to life-saving treatment. Organizations are joining as word spreads, witnessing firsthand the remarkable results and achievements.
TMSG stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in addressing the persistent issue of malnutrition in Pakistan. Recognizing a crucial gap in existing healthcare infrastructure, TMSG strategically aligned itself with established clinics, enriching their services with specialized treatment for Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).The organization's treatment program spans from 6 to 12 weeks, coupled with regular two-week follow-up visits to monitor progress meticulously. This innovative approach extends beyond clinics, providing post-recovery consultations and maintenance treatments, fostering sustainable well-being.
Central to TMSG's success is the game-changing introduction of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF). This specially designed food not only accelerates healing but has also revitalized local clinics, making them more popular and effective in combating malnutrition.TMSG's impact is palpable, with 56 clinics operational and a vision to adopt up to 70 facilities by March 2024. Every donation, whether from like-minded individuals, Rotary Clubs, or organizations, is channeled directly into acquiring therapeutic food, ensuring that 100% of funds contribute to the success of this transformative mission.
