Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future: 50 Years of Rotary in GrimsbyOn June 4, the Rotary Club of Grimsby (RCOG) will celebrate 50 years of service to Grimsby and the world. The club wants you to celebrate with them.
In 1976, the Rotary Club of Grimsby was officially chartered. The club's charter signified the realization of a vision held by professional men who shared core values of service.
Since that first meeting 50 years ago, the RCOG has grown and changed. In 1989, Rotary International amended its constitution to include women, adding more talent and leadership to the club. Over the years, there have been shifts in membership and meeting locations, but the club has always stayed true to its core principles of making a difference in the community and globally.
The RCOG has completed many projects and supported numerous charities. The Fantasy of Trees and the Grimsby Glows Pumpkin Parades have become yearly traditions for many residents of the Grimsby community. The new RCOG Repair Cafe seems poised to become a valued community event. The club is eager to see what the future brings.
Like everything else, change is always present. Likewise, the Rotary Club of Grimsby remains committed to the founder’s vision of making a difference in the Town of Grimsby and around the world.
