This year marks the 50th anniversary of the chartering of the Rotary Club of Grimsby. To build on past successes and continue serving our town and the world, we maintained momentum in January. We focused on our planning process, expanded our community partnerships, and had our club’s curlers proudly represent us in Sudbury.
Since the fall, our club has been developing a strategic plan to guide us over the next three years. The objective is to remain vital and sustainable. On Jan. 22, Bob Morrow presented our final draft of the plan. We are grateful to Bob for his dedication and leadership. The future of the Rotary Club of Grimsby looks brighter.
We continued strengthening our partnership with The Grimsby Public Library by successfully launching a meditation program. The session was so well-received that we need a larger space. This year, we will also continue our Meet a Professional or Hobbyist sessions. Additionally, we are working on another collaboration that we will announce soon.
Apart from all this hard work, our members found time to enjoy some recreation. Eight members of our club travelled north to Sudbury, Ont., for a bonspiel with the Rotary Fellowship of Curling. The team reports that their results on the ice were not as hoped. However, the camaraderie off the ice more than made up for any disappointment.
The Rotary Club of Grimsby looks forward to making this year the best yet.
