Recently, the Rotary Club of Greater Jamestown AM held its final meeting of the 2021-22 fiscal year.  During the meeting, several club members were recognized.   Pictured left is President Greg Leonard, Kelly Dawson and David Eaker.  Missing are Scott Sawyer and Steve Hayes.

Kelly Dawson was recognized for Service Above Self because of her leadership and dedication to the ideals of Rotary. Dawson has served for more than 10 years as the treasurer of the organization. She was instrumental in starting a trash pick-up project on North Main Street from the Jamestown city line to the airport 24 years ago when she joined the club and continues to organize and lead this effort. She has contributed significantly to the Rotary Youth Exchange program by hosting six students over the years. She continues to participate in fundraising efforts and other volunteer efforts. President Greg Leonard said, "Kelly is one of the first club members to say yes when requests are made for volunteers."

Scott Sawyer was recognized for his leadership and service to the club. For the past six years, Sawyer has organized fundraising efforts to support Royal Family Kids Camp by setting up a Lakewood Garden Tour for the past three years and, more recently, a golf outing at Willow Run, also happening for the last three years. Leonard presented Sawyer with a plaque recognizing his service as president of the club for three consecutive years (2018-2021).

David Eaker was commended also, President Leonard noted that he was recently recognized by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International as a five-time recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award. Eaker joined the Rotary Club of Greater Jamestown AM in 2010. Steve Hayes and Greg Leonard were recognized because they were named, for the first time, as a Paul Harris Fellow during 2021-2022.
