THE TRIP TO LATVIA IN D2410

District 7090 Rotarians Aaron Carlson (Lockport), Rick Evans (St. Catharines), John Mokrycke (Hamilton AM) visited Latvia for ten days from August 16 through August 26. During their time they visited 3 of 4 regional states in Latvia learning more about their country’s history, culture, current affairs, and local district Rotary projects.

They stayed with other Rotarians in their homes, getting to know more about how Rotarians live daily and discuss current affairs in each other’s countries. During their visit they interacted with four Rotary clubs learning more about how their club imagines Rotary and their local projects. The trip included visits to history and art museums, castles, a landfill, an arboretum, the opera, a symphony concert, many garden parties, and of course several BEACHES. Many friends were made along the way. The group just recently returned from Latvia and has shared some photos of their journey. Stay tuned for a reflection article in the October District newsletter and perhaps an upcoming web talk.
