As we progress through the Rotary year there are opportunities every quarter to acknowledge the hard work and selflessness of your members. Club Presidents and Secretaries should review the available Rotary International awards at Awards | My Rotary. Assistant Governors can promote this and help.
Start with the section on recognition of your club teammates. Can you give someone an Avenues of Service Award? Such an easy way to spotlight a teammate! This is a task you can do at any time of the year.
Are you proud of an event or activity? Does your club qualify for the Significant Service Award? Keep going: go on to ensure your club can achieve the Club Excellence Award. For those clubs with Interact - there are several awards and opportunities listed. Not to be left out, there are a few awards for Rotaract clubs.
Just a simple acknowledgement may help with retaining that member or spurring them on to their next challenge. Some members who get all the Avenues of Service Awards will become eligible for recognition by District 7090 and RI.
You can also present an award to some community friends, businesses, and organizations as a way of developing relationships and creating opportunities for people to join.
While there are some really significant awards in the list, just using a few of these awards to give thanks and gratitude for the time we put in to help others is a great way to exercise your leadership.
