Robert G. Shibley SUNY Distinguished Professor. Shibley served as dean of the UB’s School of Architecture and Planning from 2011 to 2023. Under his leadership, the center developed an international award-winning ensemble of plans for the City of Buffalo’s downtown, waterfront and Olmsted Park system, and its city-wide comprehensive plan. Rooted in conversations with 6,000 city residents, Olmsted Park laid the foundation for Buffalo’s current renaissance, spurring new investment and elevating public expectations for design and planning.
Thomas Beauford Jr. President and CEO Buffalo Urban League. Beauford comes to the agency with more than 20 years of strategic and operations management experience, primarily in the financial-services industry, most recently with M&T Bank, where he was a vice president in the risk management and regulatory affairs division. Buffalo Urban League works in the areas of family support and preservation, housing and community development, workforce development, training, and employment.
Brigid Jaipaul-Valenza Executive Producer WBFO What's Next? This innovative program addresses the concerns and needs of under-served minorities in the Buffalo/Southern Ontario area, with an emphasis on those who are working to make a difference with a positive focus on what can be achieved. "What's Next?" emerged in the aftermath of the tragic May 14 mass shooting, and since its inception, it has provided a platform for open, honest, and candid conversations, igniting discussions that lead to positive change and garnering well-deserved praise and recognition throughout our local community.-submitted by Barbara Ochterski
