We did our good deed for the day! Buffalo Rotarians Jerry Kelly, Nancy Sanders and Laurie Albertsson along with our Canisius College partner Erin Robinson attacked the buckthorn infestation along the Rotary Trail near Buffalo Harbor. We learned a lot from the experts Greg Stevens of the Greenway and Zach Goodrich from Tifft Farm. Buckthorn is non-native and it starves out native species including trees. Not even good for the diet of birds or deer! But it is thriving in places along our Rotary Trailway. This is an ongoing project and one that is important for the continued beauty of the trails winding along our waterfront.-submitted by Laurie Albertsson
