President-Elect Learning Seminar
MANDATORY Leadership Session
This seminar is the second and final mandatory session to equip President-Elects with the resources and tools to support their clubs through the 2025-2026 Rotary year.
The majority of the cost of the learning seminar is subsidized by your dues. However, there is a minor cost of $25 CAD or $17.58 USD to cover food expenses. We encourage you to ask your club to reimburse you for the expense.
Drawing from feedback from prior cohorts, we have designed this seminar to be more contextual. At a high level, the day will include:
- Plenary: Describe the Rotary Action Plan and discuss how you can utilize it to support your Club's Action Plan for the upcoming year.
- Morning Tracks
- Encore Presidents: Integrate previous learnings from being a Rotary Club president in building your team, resolving conflict, and avoiding burnout.
- First-Time Presidents: Understand the Rotary International Infrastructure, your leadership style, how to utilize club assemblies to effectively communicate to your club members, and learn best practices for governance.
- Lunch Keynote: Championing a Vibrant Club Environment
- Mid-Afternoon Tracks
- Encore Presidents: Integrate previous learnings from being a Rotary Club president to improve leadership continuity, adapt your club meetings to enhance participant engagement, and reflect on what you might do differently this year.
- First-time presidents: Understand conflict management in volunteer membership organizations and build strategies to resolve conflict. Develop strategies, tools, and resources to avoid burnout in this new leadership role.
- Best Practices Tracks: Round-table discussion on best practices related to: membership retention, local service projects, fundraising, collaborative service projects, and membership attraction.
- Small Club Breakout
- Mid/Large Club Breakout
- Interactive Plenary: Collaborate with your Assistant Area Governor and peers to chart your next steps.
