SAFETY VILLAGE & CLEANUP OUTINGS

The Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville had the opportunity to hold its club meeting at one of their long time community projects, the Chautauqua Safety Village.

The club members were given a tour of the facility by Executive Director Jessica Dayton and learned how the village provides a large variety of safety training to the community.

Pictured are members in front of the pavilion which they help build over 8 years ago! Under the pavilion are lunch tables that were secured through a District 7090 grant later on. The village is located in Ashville, NY and serves both school children and adults. For more information: www.chautauquasafetyvillage.com.

Members of the club also hit the highway for its fall highway cleanup between Mayville and Westfield along Route 394. This has been an ongoing service project for many years. The cleanup starts high on the Chautauqua Escarpment and winds up near the shores of Lake Erie! It's a great way to get your 10,000 steps in.

Club members  Steve Stratton and Patty Benton are pictured. Mike Harrington was on hand as well and took the photo.
