Our club rolled out something new this year: the Rotary Volunteer Matchmaker, a free platform connecting residents who want to volunteer with local non-profits that need hands-on help.Created by members Jackie Van Lankveld and Amin Osmani, the Matchmaker is simple — non-profits submit a request describing the help they need, and the platform matches them with registered volunteers.
No cost on either side.
We're leading the project in partnership with the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South and the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore.
It's already delivering results. When Hospice Niagara needed help restoring the flower beds at the Stabler Centre, the Matchmaker connected them with 28 potential volunteers, filled five of six open spots, and delivered 14 hours of service in a single morning.
