ON THE MOVE

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the Rotarians and Rotary clubs who sponsored Rotaractors to attend the District Conference!  We really appreciate your support! Nearly 2 dozen young adults participated side by side with Rotarians all day Saturday, taking part in the Rotary sessions.
Later in the afternoon, many Rotarians particpated in the Rotaract session. It was nothing short of magical! Rotarians offered valuable vocational service to the Rotaractors during the Speed Networking sessions and connections were made for collaboration on service projects.

Pictured here is Matt Falcone with the Speed Networking participants in the background.   Matt is the Immediate Past President (and one of the founders) of the University of Buffalo Rotaract Club. Matt will be graduating this December with a BS Degree in Environmental and Civil Engineering.  He plans to remain a vital member of UB Rotaract after he graduates UB as theirs is a "Community Club" which allows for those in the workforce to be members as well.  Matthew valiantly helped coordinate the young adult participation at the conference and has since been named District Rotaract Representative to the District Rotaract Committee.

He had this to say after the conference about his experience, "The District 7090 Conference was an amazing opportunity for Rotaractors to network with Rotarians and fellow Rotaractors. I appreciate how much this District cares about supporting young adults in personal and professional development, and I'm excited to see the momentum behind Rotaract continue to grow!"

Matthew is currently helping our committee send out a survey to the Rotaract Clubs for updated contact info and club feedback.  If your sponsored Rotaract club is not listed below please pass along the hot link to the survey which is  Rotaract District 7090 - Introductory Survey.    Please note that only one submission per club is necessary.  Once the survey results are tallied, we will report back with accurate club status and contact information to facilitate effective communication.

Our biggest growth of members will come from Rotarians who can help us connect the dots.  Why not pass along an email address of civic-minded young adults who attend these schools?

More Rotaract news on the horizon:

  • RI CONVENTION 2018: ROTARACT Pre-Convention taking place June 22-23 in Toronto! Mark your calendars.
  • A new Rotaract grant request process is being developed to allow Rotaract clubs to apply for small service project grants from Rotary clubs with a quick turnaround.
Thanks very much for supporting Rotaract!
