Rotary is in the business of leadership development and there are many program opportunities to assist youth which may begin as early as elementary school. Rotary Youth Exchanges have been taking place since 1927 and are geared to students ages 15-17.
The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise (RCNS) is active in Long Term Exchanges (LTE) and we have one student arriving in August. The Rotary Club of Simcoe (RCS) has one, and our two clubs are sharing a third. Our inbounds will arrive in mid to late August and return home in early July 2026.
We are always seeking host families as this program cannot be sustained without the support of these volunteer families.

Three Norfolk County students are departing for their year abroad in August and will return home in July 2026.
They are Oliver Tilson heading to Finland, Ronyn Coelho heading to Taiwan, and Katelyn Pilgrim heading to Italy.
Because we are sending students outbound, the two local Rotary Clubs (RCNS & RCS) receive the same number inbound.
Our three inbounds are coming from Denmark (RCNS), Spain (RCNS) and Germany (RCS) - all males.
Rasmus Kjaer comes to the RCNS from Denmark and will attend grade 11 at Simcoe Composite School.

His first host family will be with the Tilson’s, Oliver’s family.
He is 16 with interests in playing computer games with friends, learning about technology, cars (his fav is a Corvette Stingray C8 Z51), sailing and being on the water.
He also loves scouting and camping and music. He loves animals but isn’t fond of spiders or mosquitos.
His future plan is to become a software engineer.
Daniel Vidal comes to the RCNS from Spain and will attend grade 11 at Holy Trinity. Alan Plater will be his counsellor while he is here. His first host family will be with the Coelho’s, Ronyn’s family.
He is 16 with interests in soccer, riding horses (dressage), hiking, bike rides, playing Fortnite or FIFA 24 on the computer.
He is very sporty saying he likes to practice equestrianism, tennis, skiing, swimming, surfing.
He plays the highest level of soccer for his city and his age which is his passion. He loves food of all kinds.
He would like to be an architect and dedicate himself to building houses and decorating their interiors.
