In a collaborative effort to advance healthcare and improve the lives of patients in the Niagara Region, four Rotary Clubs – Fort Erie, St Catharines Lakeshore, Welland, and Niagara Falls Sunrise – are proud to announce their partnership with the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation (HDSF). Together, they have donated funds totaling $19,620 to purchase three state-of-the-art Stryker S3 Patient Beds for the hospital, furthering their commitment to the well-being of the Niagara community.
To fund the acquisition of these beds, the Rotary Clubs tirelessly raised funds within their respective communities. Additionally, they applied for a District Grant through the Rotary Foundation, which greatly supported their endeavor. This collaboration with the District Grant Foundation has allowed the Rotary Clubs to stretch their resources and make a more substantial impact within their local communities.

These innovative Stryker S3 Patient Beds are part of HDSF’s campaign to raise $750,000 for new beds and specialty mattresses for Hotel Dieu Shaver this year. This generous contribution by the four Rotary Clubs signifies an important investment in enhancing healthcare and services within the region.
"We are extremely grateful for the support from the Rotary Clubs and the Rotary Foundation, which enabled us to purchase these Stryker beds.” said Rick Mauro, Board Chair of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation. “These new state-of-the-art beds along with our dedicated staff, will provide our healthcare teams with the tools they need to rebuild lives and renew hope for patients at Hotel Dieu Shaver."
As Niagara’s only rehabilitation and complex care hospital, Hotel Dieu Shaver is proud to treat more than 1,100 inpatients and see more than 30,000 outpatients every year. Many patients have faced life-changing events, devastating disease and challenging injuries and come to HDS to optimize their recovery and improve their quality of life.
