We were also joined in a surprise visit from District Rotary Foundation Chair Sandi Chard and her partner Gary. Club President Brenda Kell-Kotwa gave a talk about Polio and why it is so important to keep up the fight to rid the world of this disease. Everyone present had one of their fingernails painted purple and was told the significance of the painted fingernails being - how the vaccination volunteers and other medical persons can tell if the child or adult has received the vaccination during mass Polio Eradication Days in endemic countries.
