On Friday, February 27th the Rotary Club of Kenmore and the Kenmore West Interact Club teamed up for a very special mission: bringing the Purple Pinkie Project to a brand-new location, Holmes Elementary!
This was the first time Holmes Elementary participated in the project, and the students absolutely blew us away with their spirit and generosity.
In many countries, when a child is vaccinated against polio, their pinkie finger is marked with purple ink so health workers know they are protected. It’s a small mark that represents a huge victory for global health.
The impact of this fundraiser is amplified through incredible partnerships. Here is how the math of kindness adds up:
Students Raised: $145 (Amazing job, Holmes Elementary!)
Rotary Club Match: The Rotary Club of Kenmore is matching that $145, bringing the total to $290.
The Big Boost: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation matches Rotary’s contribution 2-to-1.
Thank you to the staff, students, and families at Holmes Elementary for welcoming us and showing that you’re never too young to change the world.
