Our District 7090 Gift of Life Board members wish to thank all Rotarians in our district for their generosity.  We want to thank all who purchased chocolate hearts and all those clubs that so generously donated money in addition to hearts bought by individual members.

We are happy to announce that we were able to donate $8000 from our district to a global grant, GG2346903, submitted by GOL International.  That grant will provide surgical care to 76 children born with congenital heart disease in Andhra Pradesh, India and the amount from District 7090 is enough to support surgery for seven (7) children through that grant.
U.S. clubs donating this year are (in alphabetical order): East Aurora, Eastern Hills Sunrise, Holley, Hamburg, Hamburg Sunrise, Jamestown, Lancaster-Depew, Orchard Park, and Westfield-Mayville. Certificates of support were presented to each of these clubs.
It is our sincere hope that more clubs will allocate at least $100 in their budgets to this great life-saving effort.

The sale of chocolate hearts to U.S. clubs was limited due to the increased cost of chocolates this year and because of illness to a Board member.  Despite this, we did manage to sell hearts in Canada and a limited number in the U.S.  In addition, we were able to sell hearts at the District Conference for which we are very grateful.
We would like to acknowledge the increasing support offered by U.S. clubs through budget allocations.  This year, in the U.S. alone, we increased donations from 3 clubs last year to 9 clubs this year. Club donations ranged from $100 to $1000.  Without those contributions, we would not have been able to make the donation we did to the India project. No matter how many chocolate hearts we sell, we cannot raise enough money to support the work of GOL without club donations. It is our sincere hope that more clubs will allocate at least $100 in their budgets to this great life-saving effort.  That effort spans 80 countries, 5 continents, and consists of 84 autonomous Gift of Life programs.  Since 1975, more than 46,000 children have been saved from sure death from congenital heart disease.
We would like to recognize those clubs that donated from budget allocations and hope that they will continue to build a donation each year into their budgets.
U.S. clubs donating this year are (in alphabetical order): East Aurora, Eastern Hills Sunrise, Holley, Hamburg, Hamburg Sunrise, Jamestown, Lancaster-Depew, Orchard Park, and Westfield-Mayville. Certificates of support were presented to each of these clubs. In Canada, the effort to obtain club donations has just begun and it is hoped that those clubs will also support GOL through budget allocations.  We would welcome any efforts by individual clubs or any of our areas to pursue activities that would support our only district project.
