Welcome | Rotary District 7090As we near the end of the year I wish everyone well for the holiday season.
I hope our American friends have had a great Thanksgiving in spending time with family and friends as well as celebrating the season with your fellow Rotarians.
My heart is filled with gratitude for the effort Rotarians and clubs have made to help those amongst us who are less fortunate. I find that this time of the year - the early transition to the New Year - is filled with promise, reflection, and determination.
I hope that you will take a few moments for yourself to think through your Rotary journey.
I also hope you will work with your Rotary teammates to reach out to one or two of your fellow Rotarians who are not attending meetings and finding out about their intentions in the New Year.
Hear them. Accommodate them.
I hope your bonds are strengthened and that they renew their commitment to our work.
November was Rotary Foundation month and was very busy. Highlights included the Foundation Celebration and District awards meeting, and we also had a great Annual General Meeting where we approved the work from 2023/24.
December is Disease Prevention and Treatment month across the Rotary world. While the eradication of polio is Rotary International's major worldwide effort, we need to reflect on the worldwide health care delivery infrastructure and network that we have aided in building, and through which many other health-related programs and initiatives clubs and Rotarians are responsible for have been implemented.
You are welcome to browse the Rotary Showcase for member projects that help fight disease and to see what other Rotarians and clubs are doing.
Shortly after the December newsletter drops, I will be sending out a bulletin to all members regarding my year so far and the promise I have made to implement the District strategic plan. I will have a number of points I will want to raise, and I encourage each Rotarian to have a sense of their own focus and purpose to enhance their own Rotary experience.
Best wishes for a merry and joyous month.
