CLT - MAKING A DIFFERENCE

"Club Leadership Training was fun, informative and a great chance to learn more about Rotary."  Pictured: Randy Hendriks, key note speaker (center), receiving a thank you from the Anne Bermingham, CLT Chair, and DGE Reg Madison (left) on behalf of District 7090 and the training team.

On Saturday May 6, Rotarians from throughout our District 7090 arrived at Niagara College in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario for an action-packed event.  The morning started off with an upbeat address by District Governor Marlee Diehl and incoming District Governor Reg Madison who explained with enthusiasm the Rotary 2017-2018 theme “Making a Difference”.
There were 30 breakout sessions that followed – 10 per time slot.  The topics ranged from “On Boarding new Members” to “Using Facebook and Twitter” to “Managing Conflict” and “Global Grants”.  There was something for everyone.  There were over 70+ individuals who attended this event for the first time and we are happy to say that the overall evaluations were very positive.

The event concluded with an interesting presentation from Randy Hendriks who spoke about Fundraising in the new Economy and offered some interesting ideas on social enterprise for our Rotary clubs to consider.  Everyone was on their way by 2:00 p.m. having heard some new ideas, met some new friends and inspired to “make a difference” in the coming year.

Thank you to all of the committee who made this happen – Paul Finnerty (Tonic – Rotary After Five); Linda Perry (West Seneca); Tracy Ford (LeRoy); Pene Hutton (Greater Jamestown AM); Melisa Schrock (Akron-Newstead), Reg Madison (Brantford Sunrise); Ralph Montesanto (Dundas Valley Sunrise) and Robert Morrow (Dundas Sunrise).  You made a difference!
