2 OF 100 FOR 100

As part of the 100 projects for 100 years of The Rotary Foundation, Paul Harris Society members of the Rotary Club of Clarence, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Clarence donated 3 computers complete with the latest software to The Upper Room of Christ Church on the east side of Buffalo, NY.

"Reverent Benning came to speak to our club", according to PHS District Chair Jim Morabito, "and I was completely blown away by this man's passion and outreach to his community.  When I heard that our club had made a contribution to the church so underprivileged children could have a safe place to complete their homework and have the  computers required for modern education I knew it was time to step up and do more.  So, in addition to our club contribution, I gathered the other PHS members and off we went.
We twisted a few arms, called in a few favors, made a few promises and came up with three complete computer systems to supplement the club contribution.  Now, children from all over the surrounding neighborhood can have a safe place to complete their studies.  It got even better when Rev. Benning informed me that help was also available in the form of tutors for these children."
This project represents the second program undertaken by the Rotary Club of Clarence to help support the district's goal of 100 projects in Rotary year 2016-17 in honor of the centennial year celebration of The Rotary Foundation.  Pictured are Rev Benning and PHS coordinator Jim Morabito.
