Calgary Convention: Special Events!

Another great reason to come to the International Rotary Convention is the special events that happen beyond the convention floor.

Some are available to guests not attending the convention.

New Blood with The Calgary Civic Symphony*

NEW BLOOD is a widely acclaimed theatre production that blends traditional Blackfoot music and dance with contemporary music by Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel to tell the life story of Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman, a residential school survivor who overcame significant adversity to become Chief of the Siksika Nation in Alberta. The story, as told through the poem “The Indian in the Child,” blends young Spirit Dancers with First Nations dance and drumming and the music of Peter Gabriel performed by the Calgary Civic Symphony. Beyond Borders Zone 28/32 event

 Rotary Convention tradition in which registrants are given a memorable evening of local hospitality and international fellowship. Local customs and interaction between guests and hosts are the integral part of this Experience.

The Host Organizing Committee is working closely with local Clubs in Calgary and the surrounding area to provide an experience at Rotarians’ homes, restaurants, and larger venues. Your evening consists of dinner (including transportation) with local Rotarians.
