PARTNERS TO RECEIVE LITTLE LIBRARIES

This year the Rotary Club of Buffalo completed a project that had been derailed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, to create three Little Free Libraries for the community.  We found a great partner for our first placement with Fillmore Forward and the Square Block Club's Community Garden.  We were so pleased to donate one element of this terrific community garden which is soon going to be part of a GO Bike Buffalo trail and is growing (literally and figuratively).

The path and library have a lot of neighborhood traffic already and, with the vision of an extended bike path, even more residents will use the space beyond the raised bed vegetable garden and events Fillmore Forward is planning to hold on-site.

On August 17, our library was dedicated at a very special event at the garden.  Music, food, friendship and gratitude for our Library were abundant. Buffalo Rotarian and chairman of the Little Library committee, On Rattanaphasouk, was on hand to join the celebration and meet many in the community who will benefit from this library.

Fillmore Forward is a 503(c)(3) organization whose mission is to create a sense of place by improving quality of life, restoring economic vitality, and increasing inclusiveness, health, and wealth in the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King communities through grassroots organizing and public-private partnerships.
