The Rotary Club of Buffalo reached all around the world to hear about the severe water problems in Arusha, Tanzania.Ralph Williams and his wife Twyla reached out to us from the Rotary Club of Arusha, Tanzania to show us how Rotary, hard work and ingenuity are helping to solve the severe shortage of clean water in villages at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Williams and the villagers have built plastic cisterns when digging as deep as 600 feet have come up dry in efforts to bring water to the surface.
With very little cost and manpower they have provided potable water to homes and toilets for school children in the region.
Twyla has worked with women to market handmade jewelry, some made of paper, to sell. All the profits go to the craftsperson who made it.
