The Director of the Stedman Community Hospice in Brantford says people are not their diagnosis.  They are not a number!
Kerri Vansickle told Club members in September she wants to help people think differently about palliative care.
Clarifying the difference between palliative care, hospice care and end of life care (which are often used interchangeably), she also provided an overview of Hospice programs, new initiatives and community engagements.  She stressed the importance of volunteers.  Kerri says Stedman Hospice is able to do what they do because of the many volunteers.
In closing, the Director thanked the members of Brantford Sunrise for their ongoing commitment to the Hospice.  Club Past President, Cameron Johnston, presented her with a $500.00 cheque in support of the Hospice programs.
