Each quarter Renee Brouse puts together awards recognizing clubs or districts who have contributed to ShelterBox at $1000 or more - which designates them as Hero's. I then share the awards with the ShelterBox Ambassador for that district and/or the DG to help in the recognition. Congratulations! This year we can congratulate the Rotary Club of Batavia!Another Rotary year has come and gone, and once again Rotary has stepped forward to support the lifesaving work ShelterBox provides when disaster strikes. Today, we are honored to recognize the Rotary Club of Batavia as a Hero Club and thank you for your commitment, generosity, and partnership.
As you may be aware, a devastating earthquake recently struck Venezuela, leaving thousands of families without shelter. ShelterBox is responding on the ground and working directly with Rotary to support relief efforts. We are actively responding alongside our trusted partners in Venezuela, including Rotary Districts 4370 and 4380, as well as Rotaract clubs throughout the affected region.
The Rotary network has been instrumental in making this response possible. Rotarians have stepped forward to:
Provide warehousing for humanitarian aid.
Serve as the consignee for incoming international relief shipments, helping navigate logistics and customs.
Support supply chain coordination and local distribution.
House and assist ShelterBox Response Team volunteers.
Help assess needs and coordinate directly with affected communities.
Together, ShelterBox and Rotary are providing families with emergency shelter and essential household items, helping them begin the long journey of recovery after losing their homes and belongings.
This response is another powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when Rotary and ShelterBox work together. The dedication of Rotarians in Venezuela has been remarkable, and we are incredibly grateful for their leadership, compassion, and service.
