District 7090 Virtual Changeover Celebration

Fellow Rotarians/Rotaractors:

You are cordially invited to attend District 7090’s first virtual District Governor’s Changeover Event to be held on Saturday, June 27^th at 10:00 a.m. via the Zoom platform.

You may be asking what is changeover.  It is a very special moment in time where we celebrate all the clubs in our district and some of the amazing things each club achieved.  It is also a time to thank the club presidents, the assistant governors and, of course, our District Governor Bob Artis for his amazing year.  It is also the moment in time when I have the honour of receiving the "gavel" and becoming your District Governor for 2020-2021.  I am humbled by this vote of confidence by the District and Clubs and excited to serve you.  It would mean so much to me to have you take part in this special event.  

It was my desire to hold this ceremony at Wellspring Niagara Cancer Support Services' new home in my hometown of Fonthill, Ontario. However, we will have a virtual tour.  Rotarians have been very generous in raising money for this new 6 million dollar center, which supports clients and families living with cancer.  It is my desire to showcase the tremendous work that volunteers provide for these people at no personal cost.

Our RI theme for the next year is “Rotary Opens Opportunities”.  It will be a challenging year, but I know we are up to new and exciting opportunities and we are already pivoting to do things differently.
