Greetings, Fellow Rotarians!

A new Rotary year has begun! Installations are underway, our dedicated public image teams are busy updating websites and social media, and incoming Presidents are stepping forward with vibrant energy and fresh vision.

This year, I’m trying something a little different. Inspired by our Rotary International President’s powerful theme — Rotary Unites for Good — I wanted to move beyond a written message and invite you into a shared conversation that reflects the heart of our Best of Friends District 7090.

Throughout the year, I’ll be highlighting voices from both sides of the border to celebrate the strength of our international fellowship. To kick things off, I’m delighted to introduce two remarkable Rotarians: Melanie Rushforth, Past President of Buffalo Sunrise, and my Latvian Friendship Exchange buddy, Rick Evans of St. Catharines.

As leadership transitions unfold across our clubs, our conversation focuses on nurturing and supporting those stepping into presidential roles. How can Immediate Past Presidents offer meaningful mentorship? How do we, as club members, uplift and empower our new leaders? And how do we create space for fresh leadership styles to thrive?

As an added bonus to our conversation... New Rotarians, working Rotarians, and those who’ve quietly sidestepped the presidential invitation — know this: you are not alone. We are in this together. Because Rotary truly does Unite for Good.

Here’s to a year of shared purpose, bold leadership, and unstoppable good.

Yours in Rotary,

Aaron Carlson
District Governor, 2025-2026 Unite For Good
