WELCOME BACK

Westfield resident Patricia (“Patty”) Benton was recently welcomed back as a member of the Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville. Benton, who served as president of this Rotary club in 1995-1996, took a hiatus of several years for professional reasons. Her membership was sponsored by Rotarian Tom Berkhouse.  Pete Bills, Club Membership Chair, conducted the installation ceremony on July 25 at The Parkview in Westfield.

Benton is now retired from her former vocation in the food service industry.  She most recently was employed for several years by the Westfield Academy & Central School District as its cafeteria manager.  She decided the time was right to rejoin Rotary.  Benton said, “As a former Rotarian, I enjoyed participating in the meetings and events, all of which contributed to a better village, a better country and a better world community. I wish to be a part of that again.”

In addition to volunteer service activities, Benton enjoys skiing, swimming, hiking, basketball, reading, soap making and baking.  A Westfield resident since 1979, Benton is married to Stephen Stratton, who is also a Westfield-Mayville Rotarian and who served as its president during 1981-1982.  Their family includes Benton’s son Casey Martinson, her stepsons Jesse Stratton and Randall Stratton, and four step-grandchildren.

The Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville proudly congratulates Patty Benton as a returning Rotarian, and it looks forward to having her lend her valuable skills, talents and leadership experience towards this service organization’s various projects and events.
