TWO TIMES AS MANY

With the addition of two more new members in April and May, the Rotary E-Club of Southern Ontario – Western New York (SOWNY) has now accomplished its goal of doubling its membership by adding 9 new members in 2016-17 for a total of 16 members.

On April 17, 2017, David Lovelock from Brampton, Ontario joined the E-Club of SOWNY. David is a former member of the Toronto-Earlscourt Rotary Club, as well as a long-time volunteer with the Toronto International Microfinance Summit (TIMS).  He is currently employed as Manager of Employment Services and Programs at Job Skills, an Employment Ontario Employment Services office in Brampton.  During the Fall of 2016, David lectured on Non-Profit and Social Service Management at Seneca College in Toronto.  He has joined the SOWNY Microfinance and Social Enterprise Committee.
On May 5, 2017, the E-Club of SOWNY welcomed Danielle Hunter from Oakville, Ontario, who holds the distinction of being the first Rotaractor to become a Rotarian by joining the E-Club of SOWNY using the lower Rotaractor membership fee we approved recently.  A graduate of Brock University’s Bachelor of Sports Management, Danielle works at Golf Canada and lives in Oakville, Ontario, where she is a dragon boat racer.  A 2013 RYLA Graduate, Danielle is already active as a member of the District 7090 RYLA Committee and a volunteer for SLAPSHOT. She has joined the SOWNY Youth Services Committee.

On May 15, 2017, the E-Club of SOWNY welcomed Bob Sample from Denver, Colorado as its newest member.  Bob has been a volunteer with RESULTS International and the Microcredit Summit Campaign, plus an activist working to end poverty and hunger globally, for the last 31 years.  He is Founder of the End Poverty Committee; and Co-Chair of the Savings Group Action Team.  In the past, Bob has served on the Board of Directors of Fundacion Adelante (a microfinance institution with operations in Honduras), and on the Rocky Mountain MicroFinance Institute’s Advisory Committee.  He has joined the SOWNY Microfinance and Social Enterprise Committee.
